Lupin is back, and it has wasted no time reclaiming the top of the charts. Part 4, which dropped all eight episodes on Netflix on October 23, 2026, was the No. 1 series on Netflix globally by October 25, according to FlixPatrol, outscoring its nearest rivals and topping the charts in France, Brazil, Italy, Colombia, and Egypt.

1. A copycat steals Assane’s name

The new season picks up four years after Part 3. Assane Diop (Omar Sy) is still in prison, hoping to serve out his sentence and start a new life in Senegal with his family. That plan collapses when a mysterious criminal begins committing museum robberies using the name Lupin, framing Assane for crimes he did not commit. To clear his name, Assane must escape and find the copycat who knows his tricks as well as he does.

2. What is new this season

Sy returns not only as star but as co-showrunner alongside director Louis Leterrier, promising a bolder chapter inspired by Maurice Leblanc’s original gentleman burglar. Ludivine Sagnier returns as Claire, Antoine Gouy as Benjamin, and Soufiane Guerrab as detective Guédira, while Théo Christine replaces Etan Simon as Raoul, following the four-year time jump. Hervé Pierre returns as antagonist Hubert Pellegrini, and the season introduces Assane’s daughter, Adèle Kapour, and a secret treasure hunt.

3. A perfect record, so far

The new season holds a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes from its first reviews, continuing a run in which no Lupin season has scored below 96%. After a three-year wait, the gentleman thief has proved he has lost none of his touch.
